A car insurance claim is a request by the insured person to be compensated financially by the insurance company for any car damages that are covered by the insurance policy. When you have a car accident or a mishap on the road, you will need to contact your insurer (if you have car insurance) in order to report the accident, have the insurance agents investigate and compensate you financially for the damages to your vehicle or persons involved as well as send it to a car repair garage, depending on your insurance type.
Right after your accident, call your insurance company hotline and explain the situation. - If any person has been injured, call the emergency number first to get prompt medical care.
Prepare your insurance and car registration documents if you are able to.
Make sure to gather any evidence you can such as dash cam footage, cell phone pictures or any audio recordings.
Wait for your insurance surveyor and police to arrive. Do not discuss with parties involved, who is at fault, take or give any monetary compensation and do not move your car unless it is seriously affecting normal traffic.
Prepare the necessary claim form and documents as required by your insurer and submit them in a timely manner in order to submit the request for insurance coverage within the claim consideration window of time.
Together with your insurer, make a compensation agreement in order to be compensated and send your car to a repair garage, if necessary.
